Dare to Compare

I found this today in the Quad Cities Times.

The Davenport Education Association is sponsoring a 1st District Congressional forum tomorrow night from 7:00 to 8:30 to discuss education issues. Republican and Democrat candidates will be featured, and it will be moderated by Mark Ridolfi, editor of the Quad Cities Times.

I have also seen information about a Scott County Republican Party-hosted forum for the GOP candidates on May 16th from 7:00 to 9:00 at Pleasant Valley High School.

Does anyone have info on any other upcoming debates throughout the district?

This is not the first thing he's blown off across the district, by any means. It's not even the first debate he's ditched (it's the 3rd that I know of, if anybody's counting). Scott is his home county though, so this is a bit surprising. I guess he's figured out that when people meet him he actually LOSES support.

Braley's been skipping out of debates on the Dems side also. He upset a lot of people in Dubuque recently when he pulled out at the last minute. Not too smart.

Hey, Keith, does Dickinson pay you to post on these blogs? Or should I say...does Dickinson pay you?

What happened at the forum, anyone?

Education forum is tonight. Apparently Braley and Whalen are much alike...neither has political experience, both have lots of money, neither want to debate the issues with their opponents. Interesting.

Braley,

Skipping an education forum? What the hell? I thought this was a build in Dem issue!

Braley will be at the forum, Dickinson's staff is just trying to start crap since Rick can't raise any money and thinks being the Mayor of Sabula is the same as being a member of Congress.

What is Dickinson's position on the Iraq war? Same as the Republicans. What is Dickinson's position on Choice? Same as the Republicans. What has Dickinson been doing the last twelve years? Hanging out with the Republicans, they're the only ones who will give him money. Run Rick Run, Run like a Republican!!!

I went to the forum. Seems to have been mixed results for the Dem candidates. Some of my friends thought Dickinson was best. My pick was Braley.

Funny part was when the moderator specifically noted that Whalen was invited but declined to participate.

What? Bruce Braley was there? I thought the Dickinson campaign had called everyone to tell them Braley wouldn't be there? Which I thought was an exceptional use of the Dickinson campaign staff's time - good call there Keith! And Braley performed well? What? This isn't going the way you said it would...
